The inaugural #BishopChat took place today. The idea for the chat came out of a conversation between Bishop Mike Rinehart and me. We thought that this could be a great way to give anyone who wanted to take part the opportunity to have a conversation with the Bishop.
We covered a wide range of topics, letting the chat participants guide our conversation. The result was even better than we could have hoped for. In this very first chat we talked with not one, but three bishops (2 ELCA, and one Episcopal). We had a class at one of our ELCA seminaries join the conversation, too.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this chat - especially Bishop Mike and Andrea Martinez (our synod Director of Communications, who was providing lots of behind the scenes support). We are working on making this a reoccurring event, and are scheduling the next one for January. Stay tuned!
